I know you were waiting so here is Saturday’s tattoo that I won Tattoo of the Day with! What a fun concept, and to mix in some styles was rad and I would adore anyone who lets me do a combo floral/food theme like this for them also! Allowing creative freedoms help a lot to make unique creations for your piece. Let me know what you’re thinking in the comments below please!

Tattooing someone’s head is always nerve wrecking, but when it’s also a fellow tattooers head, at an expo, it’s double the nerves! And I got to do something a bit different from what I normally tattoo, all very exciting! Thank so much fosterinks24 for the trust on this one! Also, the stencil was made using @ghostlineapp, it’s an awesome great app for getting high detailed stencils, give it a try!!

Let’s talk reality a minute.
Left is fresh, day of photo, taken indoors in a dark room with polarizing film over a ring light and a polarizing filter over the an iPhone 14 camera lense. Some simple editing, get rid of paper towel fuzz, crop,etc, basically make it look like it does to the human eye in the moment. Surprisingly decent 65 year old skin with some freckles but no visible blemishes.
Second photo is straight off the phone, no film, no lense, no edit. Just as it appears to the naked eye on a cloudy day on the street. A damn near perfect heal, as good as it can be, no touch ups required, second pass helpful? Maybe, but not necessary at all.
A LOT of tattoo photo edits are beyond realistic, made to look like something it’s not and you can bet those people won’t show you an unedited outdoor pic😂
Educate yourself so your expectations are reasonable. For some blatant lying editing check out @tattooedtruthfairy for some eye opening comparisons!
This portrait healed as absolutely perfect as I had hoped and the client loves it. This is the reality of EVERY.SINGLE.TATTOO that looks unreal or over edited online. Don’t be fooled, do your homework, look for healed, natural pics before hiring an artist!
